We Were Only Kids 가사

You told your folks you were leaving We hit the road that evening The rusted key to the hotel Unlocked your heart and mine as well From the curb to the backseats And the streets to the bedsheets Getting kicks on the carpet Oh, baby, we were kidding ourselves alright We were only kids last night Smell of hope and the sweet taste of heartache The lipstick heart around our names From the bed that we dreamt in To the cars that we slept in Getting kicks on the corner We swore that we would never give up our life 'Cause we were only kids last night Seatbelts and red lights Headboards and headlights Well, who said that youth's wasted on the young? Well, we're not gonna prove them right Yeah, we'll waste tomorrow 'Cause we were only kids last night Throw your hair back to the wind Let those freckles set fire to your face You can bury my bed 'Cause I'll sleep when I'm dead We're just one kiss away From the kids that we were yesterday 'Cause we were only kids last night Seatbelts and red lights Ooh, headboards and headlights Yeah, well, who said that youth's wasted on the young? Well, we're not gonna prove them right Yeah, we'll waste tomorrow 'Cause we were only kids last night Eh, oh last night Eh, we were only kids last night
