The open sea calls out my name Quietly Yet always the same Colder, deeper And yet I remain As still as a painting Lost in a memory, find me Floating above the waves Breathing beneath the clouds Tasting the air around me, still and low In beams of light, I drift, save me Earth and sea embrace between me Hand in hand, holding me fast Fringes of seasons pass without change Stillness awaits Sleep Stay close behind me A whisper away From flesh to bone to ash And I'm gone I’m gone The steady hand of the sun on my face I've forgotten myself as I lie here waiting As still as a painting Lost in a dream, take me Breathing beneath the waves Scared as a child, free me Lost in a wish Lost in a sunset
