From afar I watch the ocean stretch into the unknown I wonder what's beyond these cold, endless waters Once, a light guided the brave who dared to face the storm Waves crash against the cliffs Fog cloaks the silent fields Snow ó pale and somber ó makes the days feel eternal Here, there's desert but no sand Mountains of water Stillness across the plains Melancholy cracks my years I don't know how much time I have left, but I still shine Strangers approach They unsettle the gulls along the shore They bring their darkness I welcome it I remain a lighthouse A light in the middle of the night
