Paroles de Recollection

I recall the weather on our final night When the treetops brushed like feathers to the moon's delight When your hair was dressed with leaves and petals from the clover And your body moved with transient composure Winter seemed to ravage what the summer spared Ice to barren branches and new smell to hair Oh, my lyrics fading from your bathroom mirror Our final moments always drawing nearer Red horizon rising through your parted blinds Fear was flowing swiftly through our parting minds Thirteen hours longing on a northern train Seven years of longing, left in vain But we were only dreaming anyway I can smell the candle burning on your desk Next to shifting sheets and terror-ridden rest Warm vanilla wax to coat our open wounds Left to slowly wither where we bloomed But we were only dreaming anyway
