Songtext von Children Of The Shadows

All along the western shore, where the sea meets the sky No remaining gates of gold, where once they stood high In the pride of flesh and blood, built on walls of sand Dreams of glory swept away, never destined to stand Shine on, shine on deep in the night Shine on, shine on ever so bright Light the way for the children of the shadows Reaching down to the legions of the lost Light the way for the children of the shadows Counting the cost Towers streching to the sun, cities known of old Many by the sword have fallen, both the weak and the bold As the ages come and go, so the seasons of man Holding on to a pale reflection, as it fades again Shine on, shine on deep in the night Shine on, shine on ever so bright Light the way for the children of the shadows Reaching down to the legions of the lost Light the way for the children of the shadows Counting the cost Ever remaining the chosen son, given the name of the holy one Through the centuries never changing From the present to the past, by your hand the future is cast What a tale the past would tell, if the ruins could speak Through a glass we are darkly peering Knowing now what we seek Shine on, shine on deep in the night Shine on, shine on ever so bright Light the way for the children of the shadows Reaching down to the legions of the lost Light the way for the children of the shadows Counting the cost We will stand against the night
